Katey and I have read the book that talks about how much the Mama bunny loves her baby bunny and so we have this thing-we tell each other how much we love each other, Joe and Makenna-even Mulligan. This morning Katey wanted to sit on my lap and then when I was on the computer, she wanted to sit on my lap...and I asked her if she just wanted to be by me. Her response was priceless: "I want to be by you mom because I love you. I love you all the way up to the sun and back down, all the way up to the moon and back down, all the way up to the stars and back down...and then, I love you all the way around the world. Cuz that's how much I love you". Sometimes I wish I could just bottle up those moments...take them out when I am feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, or just plain angry at her when she won't brush her teeth or insists on crying about playing her video game that is just a little above her age level (so of course it challenges her), or throws an absolute trantrum because she cannot have her lamp on in her room while she and Makenna sleep...because all those things that drive me crazy are totally WORTH it when I get my sweet little girl who tells me how much she loves me.
