Giving Thanks

This is a little late but I wanted to post a message about Thanksgiving-we were lucky enough to spend Thanksgiving day with the Isaacson's and the weekend with the Niekamp's. Katey and Makenna were able to play with all of their cousins on the Isaacson side-this picture is about the best we could do...Jordan is holding Makenna, then we have Annika, Ashley is sitting with Katey, and then Maya and Ellie. I don't have a picture but the girls were also lucky enough to spend the weekend with Aunt Tracy, Tye, Dexter, and Brooke! It was so wonderful to see all the kids together. I personally want my girls to know their cousins. I grew up spending holidays and a lot of time during the summer with my cousins and to this day I am very close with many of them. Family has always been an integral part of my life, I do not know who I would be today if I didn't have the influence of my extended family-aunts, uncles, and cousins. So you can see how important it is to me that my daughters have the same experiences. This is why I am SO thankful that we had the opportunity to spend time with family during this Thanksgiving Day holiday. I woke up on Thanksgiving Day and cried because I am so thankful to have a healthy family, wonderful friends, and a house to call "home". I am looking forward to many more holiday seasons with family and hope to instill in my children how important family is.

Emily, I agree the holidays can be so much fun. Hopefully everyone appreciates the time that goes into preparation! Buying, planning, preparing, cooking, serving, storing, cleaning up, dishes and hopefully having time to socialize with family after everyone helps pitch in to assist with the above before everyone walks out the door. It is always great to see the smiles on our grandchildren's faces! Hard to believe it is time to plan the next meal! CHRISTMAS! Happy holidays!
