Getting settled in

We are getting settled in to our new house, new routines and enjoying it all. Joe said to me "you know I haven't found one thing about this house that I don't like". Me....I have lots of fun ideas of things to paint, rugs to put down, and ideas for the outside of the house and yard. Katey is getting used to all the bugs-apparently bugs are more prevelent in your house when you have a large yard with trees! Actually we don't really have any bugs but the little lady bugs that like sunshine (so they hang out in the kitchen nook). We can finally get through a meal without having to kill a few lady bugs...because we all know we cannot possibly eat our cereal when a LADY BUG is watching.
The toy room is officially unpacked and fully funtional...Katey loves it. Makenna is a little indecisive about whether or not she wants to stay upstairs to play-so we have to watch her like a hawk because going up and down hard wood stairs makes me nervous...I have visions of stiches and broken glasses! Makenna has been learning new words like crazy-she basically is able to have full conversations with us now-wow it makes life so much better when they can tell you what they want! Makenna has also started to have some pretty interesting independence issues: wants to put on her own shoes, put on her own pants, get into her car seat, buckle her own car seat buckles...this can be very time consuming and frustrating because some things she just can't do yet! But she is always looking to big sister Katey and wants to do what she does...so I guess I can't blame her for thinking she can buckle her own car seat...after all "Katey Do"....
Katey starts dance class this week so it will be interesting to see how she does...when I told her she was all signed up she was super excited and jumped up and down and then stopped dead in her tracks and said "but you are going to be there too right??"...panicked that I might just LEAVE her at dance ALONE...good news is that I can stay the whole time:) Then she asked what she would do at dance and I told her that she would learn how to dance. She looked at me and said "but I KNOW how to dance"...with bewildered expression that seemed to say "so what is the point?".
