Makenna has had her glasses since Monday evening-we picked them up on our way home from work/Nana's house...the lady working was smart enough to have M&M's on hand...this created enough of a pause in Makenna's tears to allow for the glasses to be adjusted. We went home and tried them out-she didn't like them-at all. BUT the next day things improved...Nana was patient and was able to help her realize she could see a book after the glasses were put on her little face. She was wearing her glasses when I picked her up on Tuesday (first full day) and I could not have been happier!! I was so stressed and worried about transitioning her to glasses...but honestly Makenna has been an absolute angel-I think there is much to be said about giving someone the gift of sight. She knows she can see when she wears her glasses and every day she has been increasing the amount of time she wears them. Yesterday she wore them almost all day! This morning she didn't even balk at me when I put them on her before getting her out of the her crib-she just went about her daily business. She LOVES the TV. It is actually pretty funny because you can tell by her facial expression that this is all new to her...she can't believe that fuzzy talking box actually has people and animals in it! She looks at books and enjoys her toys more...she seems down right happy. Which makes me happy! I am sure we will have plenty of bumps in the road...and sometimes when I look at her it is hard to believe that she will wear these the rest of her life...and vision exams will be a routine by the time she is 2! Just a new journey to take and we are ready to see where we go....and besides...doesn't she look ADORABLE!!!!???
