Soccer

This post is for Aunt Stacy cause she is dyin to see some pictures of the kids or read something...this is all I have today! Recent pictures from Katey's soccer game last weekend-as you can see she gets right in there-but what you can't see is that what she really does 90% of the time is run right next to whoever has the ball-jogging if you will-next to them and just hovering around...she hasn't learned that fine art of being aggressive yet and it is maddening! I try to be the nice mommy that cheers no matter what and isn't pushy in wanting her to get the ball, score or just plain do well...but it is a killer sometimes to keep that inside and I find myself randomly yelling "KICK IT!!" "GET THE BALL" "TURN AROUND!!" "GET IN THERE"....but I equal that out with a lot of nice "GO YELLOW" "YAY PRAIRIE DOGS" "WAY TO GO-insert name" and I even cheer when the other team scores. The kids are all sorts of crazy out there and it is actually pretty fun to watch the games unfold-at least one child cries, gets hurts, lays down, kicks the ball into the next field yet continues to play like they are still in the right field, and usually by the 4th quarter everyone is ready for the game to be finished! 4 year old soccer has been interesting and I think Katey has enjoyed it...so hopefully she might keep it up, because despite what I mentioned before she is pretty good when she gets a hold of that ball-she kicks it right up the field to the goal and tries her best to kick it in. When she scores a goal I can't help but feel that little prickle of pride. Tonight is her last game and I am planning to tape it-I am sure we will get lots of good laughs out of it in the years to come because lets face it-these games are complete and utter chaos!

Oh my goodness Emily! I could have written this post! Bella started soccer this year and it is so completely true how maddening it is to watch them play. Bella is not aggressive either and I find myself yelling "Go after the ball Bella!" It takes all my restraint to not jump out of my lawn chair and direct her over toward the ball!

Aaah ... the joys of 4-k soccer.
