Katey has been testing some limits lately with her newly aquired use of the English Language and extreme opposition to anyone that dare answer her incorrectly, look at her sideways, or even try to talk sometimes...in order words, the girl is SASSY. We are often left speechless and so so so unsure of how handle this new behavior.
Lately we have had the luck of using Santa and his naughty and nice list to try to cojole her to play nice, listen, and be more respectful. Well this is what occurred last night at the dinner table.
Katey said something snotty and I reminded her that Santa wouldn’t be very impressed with the way she is talking.
Katey- well so what if I am on the naughty list, I don’t care
Me- really? You wouldn’t be sad if you ended up with less presents because you have been naughty?
Katey- no, I wouldn’t care
Me- oh, Katey I think you would care if you didn’t get as many presents
Katey- no it doesn’t matter
Me-why?Katey- it doesn’t matter because my birthday is RIGHT after Christmas and I am going to get a bunch of presents then anyway, so I don’t care.
Joe and I just looked at each other....what can we say???? If I didn't think someone would end up hospitalized I would be tempted to only leave out 1 or 2 gifts for her on Christmas morning and have about 7 wrapped up for her sister. Then we could see if she really "Cared" or not.
Like I said...we are screwed.
