Holy cow what has happened to this month? We have been busy lately-put the sale up for sale last week-officially on the market, online, the whole nine yards...feels really weird to be able to see your bedroom on the Coldwell Banker Website! BUT we feel like our house looks great, and we are crossing our fingers that somebody will love it and want to call it their "first"home...it is most definately first home material. I bought it when I was dating Joe...so in the last seven years the house has seen many changes! A dog. A marriage. A baby. Another baby. So far this process has been totally exciting and also very stressful...keeping the house "showable" is proving to be a lot of work! Katey and Makenna really have no pulse on this whole situation so they play like always, dump toys everywhere and continue on to the next room...each day requires major clean up:)
Other news:
Makenna and her eye appt! We went to the University of Minnesota on Tuesday and Makenna had her first appt with Dr. Jill Anderson, a pediatric opthomologist. She was awesome, her staff was awesome and they TOTALLY know what they are doing! We are feeling so good that we went there-Makenna was a trooper, sat through three rounds of testing and having her eyes dilated. By the end she was exhausted and so were we! Long story short, she is very farsighted and her eyes cross due to the farsightedness-with wearing her glasses this should hopefully correct itself over time. If not then she may have the option of having surgery-although this sounds like it would be in the future a bit. We go back in August so they can recheck her and measure the crossing again.
Katey had a sleepover at Nana's the night before the appt and Makenna was the only child Monday night and all day Tuesday-She loved it! I think she really enjoyed having all of our attention-we enjoyed it too!
Random news:
Makenna and Katey both have used Parents Choice diapers...we love them, they work great, and they are cheap! I am SO bummed because apparently Parents Choice decided to change their diapers...so unknowingly we bought a big box...well come to find out they absolutely do not do the job for overnight diaper needs! Makenna woke up soaked every night for a week...like head to toe soaked, sheets wet, blankets wet, and "baby"...so aside for washing sheets and blankets I decided that I would just double up at night. We have an ENTIRE box of these diapers and I am
a. not buying more b. not wasting the ones we have
So Makenna has been wearing two diapers to bed at night and by morning she is just about soaked through BOTH.
BOO to Parents Choice...it makes me so very sad.
Katey has really been turning on the sassiness lately-sometimes I find that I cannot even listen to her, I just need to leave the room before I start yelling. But then she also says really funny stuff like the other day when she was telling Joe a story about something random..she was babbling away and we were half listening and then she said, "I mean isn't that super weird?"....how can my little four year old have lingo like this? She is too cute sometimes.
Makenna is also chatting up a storm-some of my favorite phrases from her are
"Hi Daddy"..."Kay"...as in okay..."Jammies"...because her jammies make her oh so very happy (and the bottle that comes afterwards!) and the fact that whenever someone is missing she cannot stop asking "where daddy go?...where Katey go?...where momma go?...where puppy go?"...depending on who is gone.
So that is all we have been up to. Say some prayers that we sell our house and find a new home that we can have more space and more play space for the girls!

So I feel your pain about the diapers. I usually use a disposable at night. The only thing that would contain my little pee monster was Pampers Cruisers Super Absorbency. Turns out they were just a special option made only for Target stores and they are no longer making them. Great. On to another diaper search and more wet babies, clothes and cribs. I hope all is going well with the house.
