4 Years and 11 days...
Four Years Old
I am a little late on the birthday post...as usual life is busy and time slips by. But believe me, my baby's birthday did not go by un noticed! We celebrated with family and friends and this is a picture of her enjoying her party day.
I cannot believe Makenna is already 4. It seems like just yesterday I was sitting at my friend Erin's house at a Mommy and Me pool party timing contractions and debating if I should head home "just in case". From the very moment Makenna arrived I have felt that my life is more complete. Over the last year Makenna has grown in so many ways. She is becoming more and more confident with each day. Her sweet and sensitive nature continues to bring us so much happiness. She loves to learn new words, and the meaning of words. She has to know what day it is. "What day is it today?" is a very common question and can get a little maddening at times! Lately if someone says a word,or saying she doesn't understand she immediately asks what it means. "What does I doubt it mean?" "What is the difference between a couple and a few?" She can count to 40 with very little help, and she can spell her name. I am excited for her to start 4k this fall because I think she will really like to learn new things everyday.
Her favorite things in life are simple pleasures.
Playing with her babies makes her the most happy. She will play for hours at times just taking care of her babies. She is a very nuturing little girl and has a huge heart. Often times out of the blue she will tell me how much she loves me or just stop by to give me a hug and kiss. Those tender gestures absolutely melt my heart.
She loves to try to keep up with Katey and pretty much loves anything that Katey says, does, or likes. They are good buddies and when one gets in trouble, the other typically cries or stands up for the the one in time out. I think it is probably because most of the time they are both guilty:)
Makenna learned how to pump herself on the swings this summer and this piece of independence is heaven...she loves to swing and sometimes I don't think she will ever stop.
She has been very interested in helping me cook lately and loves to help with any and all tasks in the kitchen. I think she will be our little Betty Crocker because she even likes to watch food/cooking shows on TV!
It is a joy to watch her grow and change before our eyes.
Happy Birthday Makenna Ann, we love you with all of our hearts and you bring us more happiness that I ever thought possible.
